Devlog — Version 0.6: “On the Line” Update

Welcome to v0.6! This update introduces the brand-new Phone Call System, expands the world with a growing Bestiary of Opponents, and adds two new Trump Cards to enhance chaos, strategy, and lore depth.

📞 New Feature: Phone Calls (33% Chance per Round)

The game now has a one-in-three chance of triggering a phone call whenever a round begins — but this time, it’s not just the Host calling.

Phone calls can be:

• Strange

• Wholesome

• Terrifying

• Completely unhelpful

• Or suspiciously personal

Effects are NOT tied to the dialogue, keeping gameplay unpredictable. Possible outcomes include:

• Gaining money

• Losing a percentage of your cash

• Doubling or tripling current cash

• Quota changes

• Nothing at all

You’ll never know which kind of voice you’ll hear — or what it wants.

☎️ 21 New Phone Call Quotes

Phone calls now come with 21 unique voice lines, ranging from meme-tier nonsense to unsettling lore hints. These have been added without effect text so they feel organic and intrusive.

🎴 New Trump Cards (v0.6)

Two new Trump Cards have joined the pool:

🔹 Call Intercept (4 Tickets)

Trigger a random non-Host phone call instantly. “Let’s see who’s really on the line… maybe it’s you.”

🔹 Fate Flip (5 Tickets)

Flip you're deck's value to its opposite (e.g., 3 is now a 9, 5 is now a 7, etc.). “Fate bends for no one. Except, perhaps… you.”

These add new layers of strategy — and new ways to tempt fate.

📘 Bestiary Expanded

The world grows deeper with the introduction of the Opponent Bestiary, an archive of notable players you've encountered.

Each entry includes:

• A portrait

• A nickname or identifier

• Their known strategies

• Behavioral quirks

• Encounter percentage

• A short lore blurb

More opponents will appear in upcoming updates as the game’s world — and its victims — continue to expand.

🔧 Balance & System Adjustments

• Minor fixes to round timing desyncs

• Adjusted ticket display for clarity

• Fixed a rare bug where quota scaling would stop at 900

• Updated Shop UI to prepare for future phone-related cards
